Montreal Anti-Apartheid Pledge

WE AFFIRM

our commitment to freedom, justice, and equality for the Palestinian people and all people;

WE OPPOSE

all forms of racism, bigotry, discrimination, and oppression; and

WE DECLARE

ourselves an Anti-Apartheid community and to that end,

WE PLEDGE

to join others in working to end all support to Israel’s Apartheid regime, settler colonialism, and military occupation.

Call on the Canadian government to impose a full and immediate embargo on Israel, and end all military trade with Israel via the US loophole.

Provide sanctuary: Montreal must provide a safe and dignified welcome to Palestinian refugees and guarantee their access to care and social services.

Boycott Israeli sports, academic, and cultural representatives.

Divest municipal contracts and pension funds from the state of Israel, its institutions, its companies, and international companies that contribute to the perpetuation of ongoing Israeli apartheid and genocide.

Call on the Canadian government to expand the TRV visa program for Canadians seeking to reunite with family members in Gaza and remove onerous verification requirements from the application process.

Cut its institutional ties with the Israeli government and its cities.
